Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs desktop and end user support for various County IT locations. Work can be performed at any of the six County IT locations depending on County needs or workload. Work includes but is not limited to
  • Support of desktop and client side peripherals.
  • End user support including hardware and application assistance.
  • Installing, upgrading and maintaining PC's and related hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and support network connectivity infrastructure including Wi-Fi and cabling.
  • Assist in end user training in regards to departmental hardware and applications.
  • Inventory of IT equipment.
  • Provide "on-call" emergency support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of the Maintenance and Operation of Data Processing Equipment
  • Knowledge of the use of various Network and Computer Diagnostic Equipment
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy
  • Experience with Networking, Servers, and Workstations in a Windows Environment
  • Experience Designing, Installing, and Troubleshooting Cabling and Wiring Systems
  • Knowledge of Security and Anti-Virus Applications
  • Ability to Operate Tools, Components, and Testing Accessories
  • Ability to Conduct Research into Emerging Technologies
  • Ability to Solve Complex Problems

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or Technical Degree, or 2 years of Experience in a Progressive IT Environment
  • Experience in a Help Desk Environment
  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License

Supervision Received

  • Work is performed under the direction of the County Information Technology Director or onsite IT Manager.

Conditions Of Employment

  • The selected candidate will be pre-employment required to obtain, at their own expense, 3 forms of clearance, including:
  • PA State Police Criminal History Record Check
  • PA Child Abuse History
  • FBI Criminal History Background Check including Finger Printing
